- DEMO HELP
- *********************************
-
- Demo program presented here simulates the process of long-term
- continuous input, storing and automatic monitoring of patient
- ECG in hospital environment.
-
- During the operation the generated ECG signal and all the
- results of its analysis are stored on the hard disk of the
- computer for the subsequent full disclosure and examination of
- these data. So at the beginning of the operation the demo
- program ask you to indicate the name of the hard disk which may
- be used by the program for temporary accommodation of the stored
- data. For the normal operation of the program the indicated disk
- should contain at least 270 Kbyte of free space.
-
- Then the program begins to imitate the operation of the real
- system.
-
- Fist you should carry out the procedure of initial data settings
- (duration of the ECG data, alarms and filtering, patient data).
- After you press the button "Esc" and confirm your desire to
- finish the initial settings the program will come to the
- simulation of the ECG input.
-
- Before the signal analysis beginning you may carry out the 1mV
- adjusting of the input channel. In the process of adjusting the
- demo-program imitates the multiple pressing of the button "1mV"
- on the peripheral device resulting in an appearing of the
- rectangular 1mV-impulses sequence in the input signal.
-
- When the adjusting is over the program comes to the display mode
- with displaying of ECG signal (in the upper part of the screen),
- ECG parameters (right) and rhythmogram (left). Rhythmogram is a
- graph of the intervals between neighboring heart beats (in the
- form of vertical lines which corresponds to the sequential
- measurements of the intervals). This graph gives a visual
- presentation of the heart rhythm dynamics and arrhythmia events
- occurred during the period of monitoring.
-
- The program gives a possibility to find easily and quickly any
- diagnostically important abnormal event in the ECG signal. To do
- it you should come to the rhythmogram review mode (press
- "F3-Format choice", "F3-Rhyth." and "F8-Review") and then with
- the help of mouse or arrow keys you should set the vertical
- marker (seen on this rhythmogram) just before the abnormal event
- you are interested in. After doing this the corresponding ECG
- fragment will appear in the ECG area. So you can examine the ECG
- fragment corresponding to any rhythm disorder, noticeable in the
- rhythmogram.
-
- If more than 1.5 min passed after the beginning of the
- monitoring, you can get on the screen the long ECG fragment with
- 1 min duration. For it you should press arrow down. This format
- allows you to see a rhythm disorder in progress. If now you
- choose (with mouse or arrow keys) a short fragment within the
- long one and then press "Enter", you can see the corresponding 5
- sec ECG fragment in detail and measure any time interval on this
- fragment between two markers. The markers should be set with the
- right and left mouse buttons respectively. If you want to return
- to the current rhythmogram mode now you should press "Esc" four
- times.
-
- The program is also able to display and overlook graphs of heart
- rate ("F4-H.Rate"), number of extrasystols per minute
- ("F5-Extr.") and ST-segment shift ("F7-ST"). In the ST-segment
- mode three graphs of ST shift measured in 3 points and the shape
- of the mean curve with the indication of these points position
- are displayed on the screen.
-
- If you go out of the ST-segment mode ("Esc-Prev.menu") and then
- press "F6-Docum." and "F8-Arrhythmias" you will get the report
- on rhythm disturbances for any preset time interval.
-
- If you wish to quit the program you should exit the rhythm
- disturbances mode ("Esc-Exit") then press "Alt" and "X"
- simultaneously and confirm your desire to quit the program.
